Ethnomathematics, proposed by Ubiratan D'Ambrosio, aims to integrate mathematical knowledge present in students' cultural and daily practices, making teaching more meaningful and contextualized. The main objective is to demonstrate how this approach can transform mathematics education by connecting curricular content to students' lived experiences, especially in rural communities. The research, of a mixed-method nature (qualitative and quantitative), was conducted through questionnaires administered to students, teachers, and administrators, focusing on identifying pedagogical practices that value local knowledge. The results indicate that Ethnomathematics promotes more engaging and inclusive teaching by linking formal mathematical concepts to everyday activities such as agriculture, crafts, and construction. It is concluded that integrating local knowledge into the school curriculum not only facilitates learning but also strengthens students' cultural identity, contributing to a more democratic and rural-reality-connected education.Acesso AbertoEtnomatemáticaEnsino ruralAprendizagem significativaEthnomathematicsRural educationMeaningful learningCNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::MATEMATICAA etnomatemática como abordagem pedagógica de ensino na Escola Sabino Garcia de BritoTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - MonografiaAttribution-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
