Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10065This study analyzes the challenges faced by students in the Library Science program at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) in completing the 300 hours of mandatory curricular extension. This is an exploratory study of a basic nature, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, conducted through an electronic questionnaire applied to 485 students enrolled in the 2024.4 academic period, with a participation rate of 36.7% (178 participants). Data collection followed ethical procedures, ensuring anonymity, confidentiality, and formal consent from participants. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data, derived from open-ended responses, were subjected to content analysis, making it possible to identify categories and meanings attributed by students to their experiences. The results indicate that most face difficulties related to time management, schedule incompatibility, and reconciling extension activities with personal, academic, and family demands. The study presents strategies that can help both students and college management to facilitate compliance with curricular requirements, respecting the different realities experienced.
