Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9364This work brings a geographical analysis of the open dump located on estrada do Coco, in the municipality of Cametá, northeast of Pará, detecting the socio-environmental vulnerability that it has caused in nearby areas, diagnosing the main points affected by the dump, in order to support a reflection about the current solid waste management model in the municipality. This is an exploratory research, which using dialectical materialism has a basic purpose of observational nature and a qualitative approach to the objects studied. Through technical procedures of bibliographical research, document analysis and field research, it was developed transversally. The data obtained in the field were analyzed according to the ideas of Gil (1987) and Bardin (1977).
