Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/3967The use of natural fibers as reinforcement for thermoplastics, based on the possibility of recycling and favorable changes in mechanical properties of products, has generated interest, encouraged the study and its production, due to the low cost and reuse of available national natural resources. In addition, the contribution to sustainable development by generating thermoplastic composites with the mixture of natural fibrous waste is added, giving a new utility for the fiber that has so far been destined to landfills. The present paper presents a review of the literature on the use of the fibers of the açai pit as a dispersed phase in the formation of composites with thermoplastic matrix. It is worth mentioning that with the studies already carried out, much it is known about the açaí pulp (Euterpe Oleracea Mat.), processing and use in the food, but discussions about fiber and are still scarce. The study on the use of these materials brings the variety of testing possibilities and processes to whichthey are improved mechanical properties and also for the generation of by-products. Within the present study, the use of the fibers of the açaí as a dispersed phase in composites with thermoplastic matrix, presenting results of works produced in the same area of activity, in which these studies point out a small but relevant amount of research in the area of reuse of fibers for mixing with thermoplastic matrix, and this use reduction of environ-mental damage, a problem of great importance within the social and economic environment. Based on these researches, some experimental results suggest that plant fibers are a possible alternative to be inserted as a dispersed phase thermoplastic polymers, resulting in the reuse of waste that can be disposed of so far.Acesso AbertoTermoplásticosPlástico reforçado com fibraAçaíReaproveitamento (Sobras, refugos, etc.)CNPQ::ENGENHARIAS::ENGENHARIA DE MATERIAIS E METALURGICA::MATERIAIS NAO METALICOS::POLIMEROS, APLICACOESUso das fibras do caroço do açaí como fase dispersa em compósitos de matriz termoplástica: uma revisão bibliográficaUse of açai lump fibers as dispersed phase in thermoplastic matrix composites: a bibliographic reviewTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Artigo
