The study presents the author's trajectory as a Black woman in the Amazon, examining the 'hip disconnection' as a movement of rupture against hegemonic colonial aesthetics in dance. The work highlights that this movement, by traversing the author's everyday life and artistic training, affirms itself as a path for identity construction and the production of other forms of knowledge also within academia, considering dance methodologies driven by the pedagogy of the hip.
