Because it is a disease that worsens the clinical condition (pain, bad odor, su-purification, fistula, bone sequestration) over time and has no cure; however, it can be controlled. With a variable incidence between 2% and 40% (MONNIER et al., 2011). Low-power lasers generate positive biological effects, of an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and healing nature, through a biostimulation phenomenon. The radiation emitted by low-power lasers has shown analgesic, anti-inflammatory and healing effects, and has been widely used in the tissue repair process. This literature review work aims to study the use of low-level laser therapy as an auxiliary method of treating ORN. This work was carried out through a bibliographic survey of books, articles and scientific websites published from 2000–2020, using Medline, PubMed, SCiELO, BIREME, and Google Scholar as electronic databases. The research included articles published in dental magazines and newspapers, in English, Portuguese and Spanish, as well as books and other scientific publications. All selected articles met the criteria of being reports on the topic of the work, bibliographic reviews or systematic reviews and defined retrospective and observational studies of inclusion. Based on the articles found, we can conclude that low-level laser therapy can play a relevant role in wound healing. Although there are many controversial studies in the literature on the subject, research stands out for its promising results, showing that laser therapy and phototherapy associated with conventional treatments have shown good results, recommending its use as an adjunctive treatment in the clinical control of ORNAcesso AbertoOsteorradionecroseLaserterapia de baixa potênciaTerapia fotodinâmicaLaserterapiaOsteoradionecrosislow power laser therapyPhotodynamic therapyLaser therapyCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ODONTOLOGIAO uso da Laserterapia de baixa potência no tratamento da Osteorradionecrose dos maxilares.
