Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/5598The aim of this work intends to add to the struggle of deaf people (disability), to map some clues of how the inclusion of these people in the labor market occurs, in the northeast region of State of Pará, we also seek to characterize the relationships within the work environment, to point out the existing public policies and spread the deaf culture to the community in general. The research was performed between March and October 2022 and according to the data obtained, there was a difficulty in finding the target audience, a sign of low participation of the deaf community in the labor market. Therefore, we decided for a qualitative approach and using the snowball method to promote meetings with potential participants. In addition, it was observed that the absence of women among the people who were willing to participate in the research points to the need to analyze this data through a gender perspective, because even though there was contact with deaf women, they were not exercising formal work activity. It was also observed from the narratives of the participants that the deaf person has to adapt to the work environment in a communication situation, either through lip reading or with other resources, most of the time being the deaf person responsibility the effort to adapt to the hegemonic standards and language in our society.
