Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8553This study investigates scientific production on ethnic-racial issues in Library Science, based on the Information Science Database (BRAPCI). It aims to understand the presence and evolution of racial discussions in the field. The study adopted a qualitative-quantitative approach, combined with bibliometric techniques, to measure and analyze the content. After refining the data, it identified 96 publications between 2018 and 2024. The results indicate a growth in scientific production on the topic in 2021, while 2020 saw a decline, possibly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Among the most prominent authors are Franciéle Carneiro Garcês da Silva and Erinaldo Dias Valério. The institutions include the Federal University of Paraíba, the Federal University of Minas Gerais, and the Federal University of Bahia. The main themes identified were: racialized information practices, library education with a racial perspective, intersectionality, black epistemology, and metric studies of scientific production. The studies highlighted the importance of promoting equality in information, as well as updating information practices, especially in terms of information representation. Finally, it concludes that, despite the growing interest in ethnic-racial issues in the academic world, Library Science productions on the subject still face challenges, such as low representation in collections and institutional resistance regarding the curriculum.
