Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9532The present article, entitled *“Multigrade Classes in Focus: The Challenges Faced by Teachers in Rural Schools”*, reflects on teaching practices in multigrade classrooms. The study aimed to identify the difficulties faced by teachers in rural schools within multigrade settings. Specific objectives included understanding the principles and rights of Rural Education, investigating the challenges encountered by rural school teachers, and reflecting on multigrade classroom practices. The research followed a qualitative, field study approach, using semi-structured interviews conducted with the teacher from the school locus and the coordinator of the Rural Education sector of the Municipal Department of Education. Results indicate that teachers face significant challenges in planning and organizing pedagogical work, as they must develop differentiated activities for students of different grade levels simultaneously, often without continuing education focused on rural realities. It is concluded that, despite the recognition of Rural Education as a legal right, structural, pedagogical, and formative inequalities persist in rural schools. In multigrade classrooms, teachers encounter organizational challenges that require specific training.
