Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10218This study aims to reflect on the challenges of teaching in the Early Years of Elementary School, based on experiences during the Supervised Practicum in Elementary School I. This practicum took place in a state elementary school in the municipality of Belém, Pará. The discussions developed here are based mainly on the work of theorists such as Pimenta (1995), Paulo Freire (1993; 1994; 1996), and Vygotsky (1991), but also benefited from contributions from other authors on the subject consulted in academic journals. Based on the field experiences and the reflections discussed in this study, it was possible to understand the importance of the teacher's role as an agent of social transformation, especially in realities marked by adverse situations. However, this does not negate the role of the family and the state, which are also pillars responsible for the child's holistic development.
