Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9402This paper presents and analyzes a didactic sequence proposal for the teaching of History in the 6th grade of Elementary School, guided by the notions of records, memory, and historical diversity, with emphasis on the appreciation of contemporary Indigenous peoples and their ways of producing and preserving memory. It is based on the understanding that historical learning is not limited to the memorization of content, but involves the construction of meanings about the past through the analysis of sources and the problematization of different forms of historical records. The study proposes that the teaching of Classical Antiquity should be approached as a situated historical experience and placed in dialogue with other temporalities and historical subjects, especially Indigenous peoples, contributing to confronting Eurocentric perspectives still present in school curricula. The proposal was developed based on formative experiences in supervised teaching internships, in contexts marked by large classes and low student participation.
