Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/4439This work was developed through a bibliographic and documental review research in periodicals that comprise the years 2011 to 2022, to deal more precisely with school education for minors in conflict with the law who are incarcerated within socio-educational units, as a pretension specific, aims to list possible didactic approaches for teaching science and chemistry in such an educational context. The theme in question aims to demonstrate the challenges for conducting classes in socio-educational centers. A total of 15 articles were analyzed for data cataloging, and based on the results, it was possible to highlight some of the challenges faced when it comes to education for juvenile offenders such as: the overcrowding of socio-educational units, the lack of professional qualification of teachers who teach in these institutions, as well as the students' lack of interest in acquiring knowledge, as they associate study with something difficult. However, it is possible, through public policies and differentiated teaching methodologies, to stimulate the participation of these young people in the classroom, in order to enable their personal and social development through education. For this reason, based on the scarcity of specific publications in the area of science and chemistry teaching, it is noteworthy that research to monitor educational activities, review pedagogical projects with the reality and profile of the clientele served and listen to the teaching staff also are possibilities that can be deepened in targeted investigations.
