Booth’s study in The Rhetoric of Fiction, analyzes the importance of the unreliable narrator in constructing suspense and terror in Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart”. The research shows how the choice of narrative perspective not only guides the reader’s perception but also intensifies the atmosphere of doubt and tension, elements that are central to the creation of horror.
