Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9196This study aims to assess the knowledge of 9th-grade students of E.M.E.F Novo Tauari, about the traditional communities of the islands and the quilombola region of Abacatal in the municipality of Ananindeua-PA and their importance, and to introduce a pedagogical intervention project on the subject for students in classes A and B, and to analyze the importance that the study had for the students in the curricular component of Geography. The territory of the islands and Abacatal encompasses some traditional communities that are characterized by their diverse culture, economy, religion and customs. The methodology adopted is qualitative based on bibliographical research on the history of the communities mentioned, and a visit to the school on two occasions. The research generated the application of a questionnaire and subsequently a class about the traditional communities of the Islands and Abacatal and the importance of this study.
