Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8995The objective of this study was to establish reliable and operational Reference Intervals for the consumption rates of steel, formwork, and concrete in multi-story reinforced concrete buildings located in Belém, Pará. The research, which is quantitative and exploratory in nature, analyzed data from existing structural projects, focusing on four main indicators. The methodology centered on sample stratification, segregating the data into six case studies. The establishment of reference limits was based on the calculation of the Tolerance Interval (TI), but the descriptive analysis revealed that the strong skewness of the steel consumption data invalidated the direct application of the Normality assumption. To overcome this limitation, the study proposed and validated the Operational Reference Interval (ORI). The ORI was determined from the TI-60% and refined through a Sensitivity Analysis that used quartiles (P25 and P75) and Technical Judgment, applying restrictive corrections to the limits to neutralize the influence of outliers. The results confirmed the superiority of the indices established for the Type Floor (Cases 5 and 6), which showed greater homogeneity and statistical coherence. It was concluded that the ORI not only provides an accurate tool for cost analysis and project optimization but also serves as an essential quality control tool, alerting to potential design errors when a standard project presents indices outside the most frequent consumption range.
