Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9335This work focuses on the prison library as a space for access to information, reading, and knowledge, considering its relationship with the resocialization process of incarcerated individuals. In this sense, its objective is to investigate the scientific production on information mediation in prison libraries through bibliographic and bibliometric research, observing how these studies relate access to information with resocialization processes in the penal context. Regarding methodology, the research is characterized as bibliographic and bibliometric. The analyzed corpus consists of 30 documents, including articles, undergraduate theses, dissertations, and theses, published between 2010 and 2024, located in institutional repositories, the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), the CAPES Theses and Dissertations Database (BTD CAPES), and the Brazilian Reference Database of Journal Articles in Information Science (BRAPCI). The results indicate that scientific production on prison libraries and information mediation is still limited and concentrated among a few authors, although it has shown growth in recent years.
