The functioning of these platforms is largely governed by algorithms, which filter and prioritize the content shown to each user, recommending only topics of interest. However, they also influence individual and collective behavior, causing the filter bubble and echo chamber effect. This article aims to understand how social media algorithms can influence collective behavior in society. The method used is quantitative field research of the causal comparative type, carried out using a questionnaire intended and made available to students at the Federal University of Pará-Campus Castanhal.
