Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8359In the current Brazilian situation, agroecological-based family farming fairs are essential direct sales strategies, establishing a clear link between producers and consumers. These fairs, based on the theory of short marketing circuits, play a fundamental role in a context marked by nutritional challenges, where consumers can better choose the food consumed. This study is a fieldwork proposal that analyzes the Association of Farmers of the Family Farmer Fair of Abaetetuba (AFAFA), geographically located in the state of Pará. The emphasis of this research is to understand the resistance of the stallholders regarding the challenges faced to offer the products in the city, as well as the adversities of reprimand suffered. The importance of producing healthy food was addressed, highlighting how family farming fairs become viable and sustainable alternatives for the supply of food to the society of Abaetetuba, offering fresh and quality food. To achieve the proposed objectives, a field study was carried out that involved direct observation of the fair, structured interviews were conducted with stallholders and consumers, in addition to the production of a map and sketch, which exemplify the spatial cut through satellite images of the fair, as well as the organization of the stalls in the shed where the culmination of product sales occurs. Among the conclusions, it can be said that the AFAFA fair represents an important form of resistance in the face of the challenges faced by family farming in the municipality of Abaetetuba. By organizing collectively, the stallholders face the invisibility of the small producer in the absence of municipal policies to strengthen them, the unequal competitiveness with dominant distribution networks, and the low popularity. The fair consolidates itself as a space for valuing healthy foods, traditional knowledge.
