Acesso em:.http://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/934Even with the continuous advancement of computational technology, which has aided in the study of fluid dynamics, wind tunnels remain important scientific equipment in the research of aerodynamic phenomena, providing reliable data and reproducing flow conditions that cannot be performed by computers. The objective of this work is to construct a low-cost, open-circuit blower-type wind tunnel with an open test section of 500 mm x 500 mm to be used in turbine and diffuser tests of small size. Cost surveys were carried out to define the best material to be used in the construction of the tunnel, opting for its construction with plywood, providing necessary rigidity to the structure. To verify the flow quality, its velocity profile was mapped in the test section using a Pitot tube and visually analyzed the flow behavior through the injection of smoke.
