Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9603Circular RNAs are a class of non-coding RNAs that are directly related to gastrointestinal (GI) cancer and that may play an important role in carcinogenesis. In this study, the functional role of circHIPK3 in GI tumors was analyzed and the biological pathways that they can control were identified. Secondary data such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, BioMedCentral, Google Scholar and the search for miRNA target genes that are used in the miRTargetLink 2.0 platforms because it is directly linked to the miRTarBase 8.0 database and finally, the analysis of selected gene enrichment in the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathways, Reactome or Gene Ontology (GO). In our searches we found articles that demonstrated that circHIPK3 is overexpressed in 7 malignant tumors of the GI tract and these studies were able to demonstrate that circHIPK3 acts as a sponge of at least 15 different miRNAs and that it can interfere with their regulatory functions under their target genes, and it was also revealed that these miRNAs together can regulate 314 target genes, which were later used in the analysis of gene enrichment with 19 KEGG pathways, 19 Reactome pathways and the ATP-binding pathway of GO. In this way, we were able to recognize new genes that may be affected by dysregulation of the interaction between circHIPK3/miRNA targets, and that may be directly involved in GI carcinogenesis.Acesso AbertoCircHIPK3Câncer gastrointestinalMicroRNAsGastrointestinal cancerCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::MEDICINA::CLINICA MEDICA::CANCEROLOGIAAnálise do papel funcional de circhipk3 em tumores gastrointestinaisTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
