Adsorption is a mass transfer operation, which studies the ability of certain solids to concentrate on their surface certain substances in liquid or gaseous fluids, allowing the separation of the components of these fluids. The micas are aluminosilicates, belonging to the subclass of phyllosilicates, which are characterized by a lamellar or leaf structure and may have a good adsorptive property, this is because of its structural arrangement. The mica used in this work was a synthesis product from flint and calcined kaolin Flint. This study aimed to evaluate the adsorptive property of these micaceous materials. This synthesis was divided into two stages, one at 24 h and other at 48 h, resulting in four adsorbent samples for evaluation: MSC24.15 (Mica synthesized from calcined kaolin 24 h at 150 °C), MSC48.15 (Mica synthesized from calcined kaolin 48 h at 150 °C), MSCN24.15 (Mica synthesized from kaolin “in natura” for 24 h at 150 °C) and MSCN48.15 (Mica synthesized from kaolin “in natura” for 48 h at 150 °C). For better analysis, the adsorption test was also performed on “in natura” (CDIN) and calcined kaolin (CDC) in 700 °C for 2 h, for comparative parameters. In this evaluation was used aqueous solutions with concentrations well defined in the range of 10 to 200 mg/L methylene blue dye by bath method. Satisfying the objective, the synthesis materials showed good adsorption, the MSC48.15 sample reached a maximum adsorption of 78,125 mg/g, while the CDIN and CDC materials reached a range of 5,71 to 7,63 mg/g.Acesso AbertoMaterial micáceoAdsorçãoCaulim flintMicaceous materialAdsorptionKaolin flintCNPQ::ENGENHARIAS::ENGENHARIA DE MATERIAIS E METALURGICA::MATERIAIS NAO METALICOSAvaliação das propriedades de adsorção de materiais micáceos sintetizados a partir de Caulim flintTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
