This study aims to analyze academic productions focused on Production Engineering, particularly in this niche, which is highly significant for a country. Accordingly, the main objective of the research is to examine academic publications on the topic of Operational and Port Areas in articles published in international journals listed in ScienceDirect, Web of Science, SciElo, and Scopus. The study evaluated publications from 2020 to 2024 using bibliometric analysis and exploratory factor analysis to investigate aspects such as: authors with the highest number of published articles, the number of publications per year, the number of publications per country, and publications per journal. In total, the research analyzed 8,757 articles and 31,772 references using the terms "operational," "port," and "engineering." The results indicate that the years with the highest number of publications were 2023 and 2024, with 68 and 89 publications, respectively. China is the country with the highest concentration of publications, accounting for 17.82% of the total analyzed articles. There is a clear predominance of research focused on the port sector associated with Production Engineering in Asia, contributing 42.16% compared to other continents.
