Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10376This study focuses on quilombola school education in the Bela Aurora Quilombo in Cachoeira do Piriá, Pará, seeking to identify the challenges inherent in the teaching-learning process within multi-grade classes—classrooms containing students of varying ages and educational levels. The research employs a qualitative approach, using oral history as a methodological tool to understand the experiences, memories, and perceptions of the participating teachers. Data collection instruments included questionnaires and semi-structured interview guides, enabling an analysis of the teachers' lived experiences within the quilombola educational context. The results reveal that the reality of multi-grade classes remains marked by numerous challenges, notably a lack of pedagogical resources, a shortage of continuing education for teachers, and difficulties in organizing pedagogical work in classes comprising diverse learning levels. Furthermore, there is a clear need for more effective public policies capable of ensuring better structural and educational conditions for quilombola schools.
