In this context, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) developed the fourth generation of fixed broadband technologies over metallic cables under the G.fast standard. Such a solution expects to achieve rates in the order of Gbps using frequencies of a few hundred MHz and short metallic cables. This work presents the development of a software for the evaluation of metallic cables with potential use in G.fast networks.
