Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8323The family Rubiaceae Juss. is the fourth largest botanical family in terms of the number of Angiosperm species, surpassed only by the Orchidaceae A. Juss., Asteraceae Bercht. & J.Presl, and Fabaceae Lindl. families. In the Amazon rainforests, it has the second-highest number of species. Among its subdivisions, the tribe Spermacoceae is widely distributed in tropical regions worldwide, but little is known about the delimitation of the genera Borreria and Spermacoce, as there are different classification parameters based on their morphological characters, making the identification of their species, especially Borreria, complex and confusing. In the Amazon, species of the genus Borreria are commonly found in degraded or degrading areas. In this case, the objective was to perform the taxonomic treatment of Borreria species occurring in areas of environmental restoration that underwent bauxite mining in the municipality of Paragominas. Data collection comes from secondary data from a phytosociological survey carried out in 2021 and from collections and records that occurred in the following years until October 2023. Identification was carried out by comparisons with specimens from the herbaria Normelia Vasconcelos - HF and Embrapa Amazônia Oriental - IAN. In natural restoration areas influenced by mining, the genus Borreria is represented by three species: Borreria latifolia (Aubl.) K.Schum.; Borreria ocymifolia (Roem. & Schult.) Bacigalupo & E.L.Cabral; and Borreria verticillata (L.) G.Mey. The morphological characteristics were described, images of the main diagnostic structures were presented, and a dichotomous key for species identification was provided.Acesso AbertoBorreriaSpermacoceRubiaceaeBotânica - classificaçãoVegetação - classificaçãoCNPQ::CIENCIAS BIOLOGICAS::BOTANICA::TAXONOMIA VEGETALO Gênero Borreria G.
