Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/2726The river and its watershed constitute a functional unit to the water cycle and establishing sedimentary balances. The rivers of the Amazon Basin are responsible for export to the ocean a lot of materials inside the erosion process, both in dissolved form and in particulate form. Thus, the aim of this study was to check if there is a seasonal pattern in the transport of particulate matter suspended (SPM), determining how they are distributed in the water column, in two stretches of the Amazon River near the municipalities of Almeirim and Gurupá. Over four years (2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014) campaigns were carried out in dry and rainy seasons in the municipality of Almeirim and a campaign in the rainy season in the city of Gurupá (2014), and only in the 2012 campaign was conducted during spring tide, the others were during neap tide. vertical profiles were made in the water column on the right, left and middle of the Amazon River. To analyze the turbidity parameter we used an OBS (Optical Beckscatter Sensor) sensor and for determine to the concentration of suspended particulate matter (SPM) was taken collecting water and your quantification was performed using gravimetric method, but only for the years 2013 and 2014. The results in all campaigns were analyzed, compared, and associated rainfall, flow and the tide. The minimum and maximum values of turbidity, ranged 20-138 FTU in Almeirim, in the dry season, and 20.5 to 231.4 FTU in the rainy season, and the rainy season was Gurupá 75-291 FTU. The minimum and maximum quantization MPS ranged between 20 and 208 mg / L in Almeirim, 20 to 388 mg / L Gurupá. MPS transport in the two sections of the river had an export behavior of sediment toward the mouth of the Amazon River, with a maximum of transport in Almeirim 17 tons per second and a resulting by tidal cycle of 236,566 tonnes, while in Gurupá it was 22.27 tonnes per second, resulting from 227,380.7. the spatial distributions of turbidity and MPS showed a distinct seasonal pattern between the years of collection, with higher values during the rainy season, in the bottom of river during flood tide, in both periods. Therefore, one can see that in the two sections of the Amazon River, Almeirim and Gurupá showed a pattern of seasonal sediment distribution transport, which were directly influenced by local rainfall, the occurrence of La Niña, river flows, and tide component acting in the intensification and / or attenuation in the distribution of turbidity and MPS parameters in the water column (surface and bottom).Acesso AbertoTransportes de sedimentosTurbidezAmazonas, RioCNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::OCEANOGRAFIAVariação e transporte de material particulado em suspensão no rio Amazonas nos trechos de Almeirim e GurupáTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
