In this regard, this article aims to highlight the results concerning the behavior of the null subject parameter (NSP) in the quilombola communities of Jurussaca, Tracuateua-Pará (Luz, 2023) and Tipitinga-Santa Luzia do Pará (Castro, 2017), focusing on subject referentiality, specifically the third person in discourse. The specific objectives aim to observe what extralinguistic factors are favoring or inhibiting the occurrence of null subjects; to verify which participants in the discourse present a higher rate of null and full subjects; to investigate whether the analyzed data support the hypothesis of the subject referentiality hierarchy proposed by Duarte and Kato (2014); and to comparatively analyze the data collected in the two studies focusing on the paths of variation and change in relation to Brazilian vernacular Portuguese. The variables considered will be: the dependent variable: absence/presence of the subject, and the independent variables: referentiality of the subject in the third person in discourse (linguistic factor) and gender/sex, age, and education (extralinguistic factors). The methodology employed will be qualitative and quantitative in nature (Cardoso, 2003) from a sociolinguistic perspective, which will help us interpret how the null subject parameter behaves in the speech of the quilombola community residents. In field research, we used the observation technique and semi-structured interviews (Ludke and André, 1986). Regarding the transcription procedure of the data, we used the graphematic transcription key model (Lucchesi, 1994). Our hypotheses, based on the comparatively analyzed data, corroborate the hypothesis of the hierarchy of subject referentiality.Acesso AbertoSujeito nuloReferencialidade do sujeitoTipitingaJurussacaNull subjectSubject referentialityCNPQ::LINGUISTICA, LETRAS E ARTES::LINGUISTICAO parâmetro do sujeito nulo na variedade falada nas comunidades quilombolas do Jurussaca-Tracuateua-Pará e Tipitinga-Santa luzia do ParáTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - ArtigoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
