Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/6340Aiming to contribute to the research in personal files, the present work focused on one of the most present documentary typologies in people's archives, the letters, specifically the letters of a prisoner of the civil-military dictatorship in Brazil. Thus, the general objective of this work was to describe the process of organization of the letters of Lúcia Veloso, which culminated in the creation of a homonymous fund in the National Archives carried out at the initiative of the Project Memórias Reveladas, as well as to analyze some of the letters written by Lúcia Velloso during her arrest in the context of the Brazilian civil-military regime. To achieve the general objective, the present work had as specific objectives to describe the historical circumstances of Brazil at the time of production of the analyzed letters (1971-1974), to address the particularities of the documentation produced during the exception regime in Brazil (1964-1985), and to highlight aspects of individual and collective memory in the letters sent by Lúcia, relating them to the conceptual aspects about memory from the selected bibliography. The methodologies used to carry out the research were a bibliographical research, based on readings and analyses of books, scientific articles, journals, theses and dissertations, a documentary research, considering that the purpose is to understand the history of an individual and its relationship with a specific phenomenon, and a qualitative study of Lucia's letters, which is carried out by the researcher who seeks to deepen the understanding of phenomena based on the actions of individuals, groups or organizations in their environment and social context.
