It will determine whether these protective devices are obsolete and have been discontinued by manufacturers. Given this scenario, a retrofit is proposed to modernize this equipment. This involves the basic operation of a protective system, its main characteristics, and the historical evolution of protective relays, from electromechanical models to modern digital relays.
