In the state of Pará, there is still a lack of systematic studies that assess pavement conditions. In this context, this study aimed to identify the Surface Condition Index (IES) of sections of highways PA-483 and PA-151, applying the Continuous Visual Survey (LVC) method, in accordance with DNIT 008/2003-PRO. The research analyzed four sections, subdivided into 82 one-kilometer segments, with data collected in January, March, May, and July 2025. The Chi-Square test was applied to assess temporal variation of the IES, and Pearson’s correlation coefficient was used to verify the relationship between the Flexible Pavement Condition Index (ICPF) and the Rapid Global Gravity Index (IGGE). Results showed Section 4 as the most critical, with average IES values reaching 8 (Very Poor), while Section 1 presented less critical conditions, ranging from 2 (Good) to 4 (Fair). Patching was the most recurrent defect, observed on average in 89.6% of the segments, followed by interconnected cracks (77.7%) and wheel path rutting (66.7%), while block cracking was the least frequent (2.7%). The Chi-Square test indicated no significant difference in IES variation over short periods (2 months) but revealed differences over longer periods (6 months), evidencing distinct deterioration patterns over time. A moderate negative linear correlation (r = -0.78) was also observed between ICPF and IGGE, demonstrating consistency between subjective and objective assessments. It was concluded that, despite occasional maintenance activities, the pavement sections deteriorated from January to July, a period coinciding with the rainy season.
