Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9840This Course Completion Paper investigates the use of educational games as a strategy to enhance the teaching and learning of Mathematics in the 6th grade of Elementary School at Escola Municipal Antônio Marçal, located in the municipality of Inhangapi, Pará. The research emerged from the perception that many students present persistent difficulties in the subject, often associated with a lack of motivation and the view of Mathematics as a distant and complex area of knowledge. In this context, the study sought to understand whether playful activities could contribute to making the learning process more meaningful and engaging. This is a qualitative, descriptive, and applied research, grounded in theoretical frameworks that highlight the role of playfulness in students’ cognitive and social development. It also dialogues with the BNCC, which encourages active methodologies and student protagonism. Throughout the study, different mathematical games were implemented to work on essential 6th-grade content, and the entire process was monitored through systematic observations and field diary records. The analysis focused on elements such as engagement, participation, cooperation, and the mobilization of mathematical skills during the games, aiming to understand how a playful environment influences students’ relationship with the subject.
