Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8999The Neotropical region is distinguished by its unparalleled diversity of freshwater fish, particularly within the Amazon basin. Notably, the Doradidae family, part of the Siluriformes order, exhibits significant diversity, encompassing approximately 95 valid species, and holds considerable importance for both commercial fisheries and the aquarium trade. Among the parasitic fauna associated with these fish, the platyhelminths of the Monogenoidea class are particularly noteworthy, as they represent the most diverse group, with 23 known species. However, our understanding of this diversity is still limited, as only eleven species of doradids have undergone investigation for their monogenoidean parasites. This study aims to provide a comprehensive inventory of Monogenoidea diversity in the doradid species Doras higuchi Sabaj Pérez and Birindelli, 2008, from the Xingú River. The findings of this research resulted in the identification of a new species specific to the drainages of the Xingú River, based on a combination of morphological and molecular analyses.Acesso AbertoParasitoMonogenoideaDoradidaeTaxonomiaParasiteMonogenoidsTaxonomyCNPQ::CIENCIAS BIOLOGICAS::ZOOLOGIA::TAXONOMIA DOS GRUPOS RECENTESTaxonomia integrativa de Monogenoidea (platyhelminthes) parasitos de Doras higuchii Sabaj Pérez & Birindelli, 2008 (Siluriformes, Doradidae) do Rio Xingú, Pará, Brasil.Trabalho de Curso - Graduação - ArtigoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
