Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9626This work investigates the fatigue behavior of reinforced concrete beams subjected to cyclic and variable loading, typical of overhead cranes in industrial environments. The adopted methodology is based on the verification criteria of fib Model Code (2010), combining nonlinear analyses of cross-sections through Newton-Raphson method, Rainflow algorithm for cycle counting, and Palmgren-Miner damage accumulation hypothesis. Six critical cross-sections of longitudinal support beams were analyzed, considering six distinct operational scenarios over an 83-year period (1959-2042). The results identified sections S1 and S3 as the most vulnerable to fatigue, presenting infinite life safety coefficients lower than 1.0 in the most severe loading cases, with significant acceleration of accumulated damage from 2015 onwards. The remaining sections demonstrated behavior compatible with infinite life, even considering periods exceeding 100 years. Verification of compressed concrete was satisfied in all sections, indicating that fatigue of tensile reinforcement constitutes the predominant failure mode. The service life analysis revealed a marked dependence of the estimates on the partial safety factors applied to accidental actions, underscoring the importance of an accurate assessment of the acting stress demands. The computational tool employed proved effective in determining stress histories, enabling the evaluation of complex loading scenarios.
