In this context, the research focused on analyzing the perception of students in the Library Science course at UFPA, offered via distance learning, considering the sociocultural impacts, academic interaction, and structural challenges faced in their professional training. The central objective of the research was to map the students' sociodemographic profile, identify factors influencing their academic trajectory, evaluate the quality of the teaching, and outline challenges and perspectives for the course. The research's relevance is justified by the scarcity of studies specifically focused on UFPA's distance learning library science course and by the urgent need to understand this modality's effects on student education, given a constantly transforming educational context. The study is exploratory and descriptive, combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. The research methodology employed an online questionnaire answered by 40 students. The results indicated that the students are mostly adult women already in the workforce who have limited financial means. Furthermore, the results also pointed to high satisfaction with the content and teaching materials provided in the course.
