Objective: To verify the knowledge of the last graduation period of the Dentistry Faculty of the Federal University of Pará on clinical practices recommended by current scientific evidence about the treatment of deep cavities and pulp exposures. Material and Method: A validated questionnaire containing twelve questions was used, contextualized about a clinical case whose patient had a deep carious lesion. The students answered which treatment approaches they would adopt both for the treatment of deep caries and for intervention of accidental pulp exposure, in different clinical situations: asymptomatic tooth; reversible pulpitis; and irreversible pulpitis. Results: In the asymptomatic scenario, 48,6% opted for selective removal and 29,7% for total removal of carious tissue. In the reversible pulpitis scenario, 59,5% opted for selective removal and 21,6% for gradual removal. When there was pulp exposure for both scenarios, the choice was for Vital Pulp Therapy. However, in the irreversible pulpitis scenario the choice, with more than 70%, was by pulpectomy.
