In women toxoplasmosis pregnant women can cause serious damage to the fetus, approximately 85% of newborns with congenital toxoplasmosis do not show clinical signs at birth, however a more detailed assessment may show changes such as intrauterine growth restriction, prematurity, cerebrospinal fluid abnormalities and scarring of retinochoroiditis. Given the above it was realized the need to develop a survey to know the level of knowledge of pregnant women about toxoplasmosis in Breves, Marajó Island, Pará. Formulated a questionnaire containing ten closed questions whose reposted were YES and NO, were interviewed 30 pregnant women between November 2015 and March 2016. the results obtained from the research can be seen the low level of knowledge of pregnant women about the disease, only 37% knew what it was toxoplasmosis and how it is transmitted and 33% know methods of preventing disease, these results reflect the lack of guidance and information that the health system provides pregnant women Breves, but the negative results of 43% of pregnant women who were examined for detection of Toxoplasma Gondii demonstrate that despite the lack of knowledge about the disease the same is not so common in our midst.Acesso AbertoToxoplasmoseGestantesGravidezToxoplasmosisPregnant womenPregnancyCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::MEDICINA::SAUDE MATERNO-INFANTILTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - MonografiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
