However, teachers' working conditions significantly influence the success of this process. The precariousness of school infrastructure, professional devaluation, and insufficient pedagogical resources are factors that compromise the quality of literacy instruction. This article aims to analyze the impact of teacher working conditions on the literacy process of children in Pará. Specifically, it seeks to: (i) investigate the main structural and organizational factors that shape working conditions in the context of literacy; and (ii) assess the correlation between the precariousness of teaching work and literacy outcomes in public schools in Pará. The research adopts a qualitative approach, based on a documentary analysis of public education policies in the state of Pará, complemented by the examination of official statistical data that allows mapping the literacy landscape in the region. The results demonstrate that the precariousness of school infrastructure, coupled with the lack of adequate working conditions, constitutes a recurring challenge that compromises both teaching practice and student performance.
