This model focuses on content transmission by the teacher and student passivity, lacks incentives for critical thinking and creativity, with an excessive focus on memorization and standardized assessments. Given this issue, student difficulties intensify when addressing Geosciences due to the lack of adequate depth in subjects such as Global Warming, the Origin of the Earth, and Evolution, among others, which are part of this field but are not properly addressed. This study was conducted in a public school in the city of Bragança (Pará) with a firstyear high school class. A board game was used as a didactic resource within the framework of active methodologies: Game-Based Learning (GBL) and ProblemBased Learning (PBL). In the final questionnaire, 64% of the students stated that they liked the activity because they considered it fun, which contributed to greater engagement. Furthermore, 27% reported that their general preference for games positively influenced their perception of the class, and 9% highlighted the pleasure of crafting the board game as a factor that made the experience more appealing and meaningful. Finally, 100% of the students confirmed that the application of the didactic resource was productive. In addition to facilitating learning, the methodology provided fun moments, making the teaching process more engaging and meaningful. It is concluded that practical activities using active methodology resources, combined with student guidance, can increase and improve interest in the content and develop communication and socialization skills.
