Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/2352This work aimed to carry out an ethnobotanical survey in a high school class at Raimundo Sarges da Rocha School in Rio Guajará, Beja, about the knowledge and use of home remedies as well as identify the sources of this knowledge and register it. From that point on, the families of the participating students were selected, who have plants at home in search of the most used species, where they produce the same, the form of the medicine, part of the plant used and in what form they use the medicine. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews, after the interviews with the families, the samples were collected in the interviewed backyards, the vegetables were herborized adopting the methods presented by Ming (1996). To classify them respectively were based on the data of Flora of Brazil 2020. There were mentioned 31 species of plants for medicinal use. The species identified are distributed in 22 botanical families and stand out Rutaceae, Lamiaceae, Fabaceae, and Zingiberaceae. The species that stood out with the highest number of citations were ginger, orange, lemon and boldo. The species are organized in: herbs trees, shrubs and palm trees. The most used part was the leaves, in the form of teas, then next comes the fruits, the bark of the stem, the root, the seeds, the stem, and finally, the flowers and the foliar branches. Self-medication is present in the lives of employees. Some facilities are provided to assist a patient in the locality.
