Orientador: Roberto Dall’Agnol. 2012. 97 f. Trabalho de Curso (Bacaharelado em Geologia) - Faculdade de Geologia, Instituto de Geociências, Universidade Federal do Pará, Belém, 2012. Disponível em: http://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/1869. Acesso em:.http://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/1869Based on modal compositions, the gabbros in the region of Serra Dourada were classified into three groups: (1) gabbro with olivine, composed mainly of plagioclase (An ranging from 65 to 70), clinopyroxene (augite), orthopyroxene (enstatite), with olivine and amphibole (ferropargasite and magnesiohornblende) subordinates. (2) gabbro and gabbro-norite, composed mainly of plagioclase (An ranging from 50 to 80), clinopyroxene (mostly augite, subordinate diopside, clinoferrossilite and pigeonite), orthopyroxene (enstatite) and amphibole (ferropargasite). (3) The amphibole-gabbros are slightly foliated rock, composed mainly of plagioclase (ranging from labradorite to oligoclase) and amphibole (predominantly ferropargasite, with few instances of hastingsite, ferro-edenite, ferrotschermakite and actinolite), with clinopyroxene (augite and clinoenstatite) and orthopyroxene (enstatite) subordinates. Magnetite and ilmenite are primary oxides of Fe and Ti in gabbros with olivine and gabbro and gabbro-norite. These minerals are related to the oxy-exsolution titanomagnetite, originally formed in the magma. But magnetite can also be formed by secondary processes. The magnetic petrology of gabbros revealed that Serra Dourada have four populations (A, B, C and D) with different magnetic characteristics. The lower values of SM are in the population A, and the largest are in D. The groups of gabbros with olivine and gabbro and gabbro-norite are concentrated in populations C and D, with its relatively high values of MS. The amphibole-gabbro are scattered in different populations, including occupying the highest values of SM. This can be explained by the secondary formation of magnetite.Acesso AbertoPetrologiaPetrografiaSuscetibilidade MagnéticaGabrosCNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::GEOCIENCIAS::GEOLOGIAPetrografia, suscetibilidade magnética e mineralogia dos gabros da área de Serra Dourada, Província CarajásTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
