In recent years, there has been significant growth in UPA activities in the Metropolitan Region of Belém (RMB), mainly due to changes in eating habits, climate change, and the pursuit of income generation for families. The qualitative research was conducted during the tenure of the scientific initiation scholarship (CNPq/PIBIC) over the years 2022 to 2025, thru bibliographic research on the topic and semi-structured interviews and participant observation with the Agroecological Consumption Group (GRUCA) and other participants, with the aim of understanding which aspects contribute to strengthening AUP in Belém. The work aims to address the experiences of people who engage in AUP in the RMB and how this activity can positively impact the lives of the population. The results, based on the interviews, demonstrate that AUP has great potential in the RMB.
