Salivary gland myoepithelial carcinoma (MC) is a malignant neoplasm of salivary gland. The aim of the present study was to integrate the available published data on salivary gland MC. Methods. An electronic search was performed in August 2018. The inclusion criteria for the publications were studies that contained clinical and histological information to confirm the diagnosis. Results: 59 publications and 197 patients were selected. The lesion was more prevalent in females and in the fifth decade of life and presents as a rapid painful growth involving mainly the parotid gland, and a tumor average of 4.53 cm. Survival analysis revealed that parotid lesions (p-value: <0.0001), larger than> 4.53 cm (p-value: 0.0209), with the presence of necrosis (p-value: 0, 0396), those treated with conservative treatment (p-value: <0.0001), who presented recurrence (p-value: 0.0217) and distant metastasis (p-value: 0.0176) had a worse prognosis. In addition, lesions with a proliferation index greater than 50% (p-value: 0.0143), with lymph node metastasis (p-value: 0.0004) and which presented recurrence had a statistically significant relationship with distant metastasis (p- value: <0.0001). Conclusion: It can be inferred that patients with parotid lesions, sizes larger than the tumor average, presence of necrosis, treated with conservative surgery, who presented recurrence or distant metastasis, showed a worse prognosis.Acesso AbertoCarcinoma MioepitelialMyoepithelial CarcinomaCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ODONTOLOGIACarcinoma Mioepitelial: uma revisão sistemáticaTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - ArtigoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
