Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10091Information literacy is a transdisciplinary theme, consolidated in Information Science, whose precepts go beyond the limits of a single area of knowledge, since it is applied in different academic, professional and social contexts. It has been included in discussions around sustainable development, as a resource that can contribute to critical, assertive and conscious decision-making, in favor of a sustainable society. The objective of the research was to map information literacy initiatives related to the precepts of Sustainable Development and Sustainability. This is descriptive exploratory research with a methodological path focused on bibliographic research to systematize the themes and map the aforementioned initiatives. The mapping identified eight actions with information literacy initiatives related to the precepts of Sustainable Development and Sustainability, focusing on reading and research, storytelling, guidance and professional training, among others, contributing to the formation of creative, critical, autonomous, emancipated and empowered individuals with regard to the development of skills to deal with information and information processes in different contexts: social, professional and educational.
