Electrical Power Systems ensure its generation, transmission and distribution, with transformers being fundamental. To ensure its efficiency, corrective, preventive or predictive maintenance is applied, the latter being the most advanced, reducing failures and costs. The following problem-question guides this research: what are the impacts of using Predictive Maintenance and its technological resources in power transformers? The general objective is: to investigate what are the impacts of using Predictive Maintenance and its technological resources in power transformers. The specific objectives are: to discuss the main characteristics of power transformers, including their concept and operation, main components, most common failures, and other characteristics relevant to this study; to discuss the main characteristics of Maintenance and its three main typologies; to analyze the advantages of using Predictive Maintenance in relation to corrective and preventive Maintenance, with regard to costs and technological resources employed; to present the main techniques used to predict failures in transformers; to analyze studies related to the topic to identify the impacts of Predictive Maintenance on transformers. As a result, the study analyzed the impacts of Predictive Maintenance (PRM) on power transformers through a literature review. It was confirmed that PRM reduces costs, increases service life and improves equipment reliability.
