Research Problem: Knowledge areas with less public notoriety, such as Archival Science, could make use of products from the cultural industry in a sense to expand the possibilities of portraying a given profession and its main activities —whether in a playful and/or artistic manner. Objective: This research aims to characterize the representations of characters who portray, in a playful way, the figure of the archivist in cultural industry products, using the literary series The Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss as a case study. Methodological Procedures: This is a qualitative, basic, and descriptive research, based on bibliographic and textual analysis of the selected work. The methodology involved a full reading of the series, identification of characters related to Archival Science, description of their activities, and comparison with actual professional practices defined by Brazilian legislation and archival literature. Results: Intersections were identified between the characters' actions and archival practices such as user service, access control, collection dissemination, preservation guidance, and document description. The absence of certain practices, such as the elaboration of reports, archival diagnosis, and consultancy, was also noted.
