Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/7888The study aims to understand how corporeality is expressed in different daily practices of s public preschool in Castanhal, Brazil. The methodology adopts a qualitative approach, constituting an exploratory research on the subject. For data collection, semi-structured interviews were conducted and recorded with two teachers from a municipal school in Castanhal, PA, in the year 2023. After analysis, the results were organized into three discussion categories. The first category, “about the moving body”, addresses issues related to behavior, body movement, and the development of children ́s motor skills. In “nutrition, hygiene, and care for the child ́s body,” discussions focus on how teachers promote self-care habits and autonomy among students. The last category, “about the child ́s body and social demands,” illustrates how contemporary debates, influenced by various legislations, impact the preschool curriculum, bringing relevant discussions on corporeality, such as child abuse prevention, inclusion, gender equality, and ethnic-racial awareness. The results indicate that these categories provide insight into how participants integrate corporeality into their practices. In inclusion, corporeality is an essential too in pedagogical practice and indispensable for child development.
