Their eruption may be hindered by genetic, anatomical, and functional factors, which can lead to serious aesthetic and functional complications, such as root resorption of adjacent incisors. Early identification between 8 and 11 years of age is essential, and clinical examination along with radiographic imaging—such as panoramic and periapical X-rays using the Clark technique—are fundamental for diagnosis. This study aims to guide dental surgeons in the early identification of impacted canines and in the appropriate clinical management. Through a case report of an 11-year-old female patient, the main clinical signs and radiographic protocol were illustrated, resulting in the indication of interceptive extraction of the deciduous canine (53) and radiographic monitoring of the permanent canine (13), whose eruption path showed a high risk of impaction.
