Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/6543The technological characterization of aggregates is essential for paving works, as it measures the properties and helps to predict the behavior of the aggregates in the asphalt mixture, when in service. However, it is not always possible to make this characterization in all works, since the great distances, absence of environmental zoning, precarious access conditions and unavailable infrastructure, limit the process of extraction and direction of the aggregate for consumption. Thus, technological characterization studies should be carried out in order to use mineral aggregates closer to the consumption centers of the works. Therefore, the objective of this work is to characterize the aggregates: gravel 0, stone dust and natural sand used to compose the asphalt concrete of the flexible pavement of the BRT work in the Metropolitan Region of Belém on the BR-316 highway, according to specifications indicated by DNIT standards. To this end, the tests of particle size analysis, shape index, Los Angeles abrasion and specific mass of coarse and fine aggregates were used. The main results were: "Los Angeles" abrasion = 34.11 %; form index = 2.165; Specific mass of aggregates: gravel 0 = 2.658 g/cm3, natural sand = 2.625 g/cm3 and stone dust = 2.638 g/cm3 ; particle size analysis: Gravel 0 has an open graduation with continuous granulometric distribution, natural sand has a dense graduation with continuous granulometric distribution and stone dust has a dense graduation similar to natural sand. The best proportion of aggregates, according to the trial method, to reach the "range C" of the DNIT was 60 % of crushed stone 0, 25 % of stone dust and 15 % of natural sand, with specific mass of the aggregate mixture = 2.648 g/cm³. Therefore, it is concluded that the aggregates meet the DNIT specifications for the "C range" of asphalt concrete (AC).Acesso AbertoAgregadosEnsaio de caracterizaçãoConcreto asfálticoFaixa C DNITAggregatescharacterization testAsphalt concreteC range DNITCNPQ::ENGENHARIAS::ENGENHARIA CIVIL::INFRA-ESTRUTURA DE TRANSPORTESCaracterização técnica dos agregados brita 0, pó de pedra e areia para fins de uso em concreto asfaltico: estudo de caso: obras BRT metropolitano de BelémTechnical characterization of gravel 0 aggregates, stone dust and sand for use in asphalt concrete. case study: Belém metropolitan BRT projectTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
