Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9274Pathological manifestations in reinforced concrete structures are a recurring challenge in civil construction, compromising the durability, safety, and functionality of buildings. This work aimed to analyze the pathological manifestations in an educational institution in Tucuruí/PA, in order to diagnose their causes and propose corrective and preventive measures. For the development, a sequential approach was adopted, starting with a visual inspection to map the damages, followed by a computational analysis of the structure in a software based on the Finite Element Method (FEM). From this, the simulation results were correlated with the inspection data to elaborate the diagnosis. The computational analysis showed that, although the structure meets the safety criteria in the Ultimate Limit State (ULS), the building presents inadequate performance in the Serviceability Limit State (SLS). Therefore, it is indicated that the root cause of the cracks is the excessive deformation (deflection) of critical beams, which reached values almost twice the normative limit of ABNT NBR 6118:2023. With this, structural strengthening with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) systems is proposed for deformation control, associated with the treatment of cracks and the implementation of a building maintenance plan.
