Therefore, this work discusses the need for new methodological interventions for teaching Mathematics, since the main objective of the study was to demonstrate some contributions that the Scratch programming language can bring to the learning of mathematical content in higher elementary education. For that, an exploratory bibliographic research was carried out whose analysis is based on the constructivist discourse of Jean Piaget and Seymour Papert, where the idea is defended that learning is more meaningful when the agents involved in this process can create their own mechanisms for such.
